Flint Faience Gothic Design Tile with Fleur de Lis

This Arts and Crafts tile with a gothic inspired design was made at the Flint Faience Tile Company (1921-1933) in Flint MI. The fleur de lis design is on a dense clay body and is press molded. The background is glazed in green. The tile measures 6" square and 1/2" thick. Felt is firmly attached to the back covering any marks. Very good condition with a nick on the corner and a chip on the edge.
Although the tile company was short lived, it may be better known for making spark plugs for the Detroit auto industry.
