Flint Faience Tile Sagittarius Zodiac Hunter and Rabbit

An Art Deco tile by Flint Faience of Flint Michigan. The whimsical zodiac design series is inspired by Mayan characters. This hand decorated tubelined image is for the zodiac sign of Sagittarius (Nov21-Dec21) and shows the character holding a bow and arrow while hunting a rabbit.  Measures 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" x 1/2". Excellent condition, silicone on back. Impressed mark.

This zodiac series was designed by Howard Burton (1881-1950) Art Director and Architect for Flint Faience. A set of these was displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1928.
