Mosaic Tile Company Hawk Kindergarten Series

Vintage Arts and Crafts Mission tile in matte glazes from the Mosaic Tile Company dating to the 1930's. Measures 4 1/4" square and nearly 1/2" thick. From the Kindergarten series is shows a self framed image of a hawk. Made from a red faience clay, the tile was reclaimed and has chipping on the back. This tile was photographed for volume 2 of the four volume set of the Encyclopedia of American art Tile by Norman Karlson.
