Antique Tile Fireplace Panel, Potted Lilies by American Encaustic Tile Company
$ 375.00
Beautiful tile panel made at the American Encaustic Tile Company, AETCO, of Zanesville, Ohio in the late 1800's. The panel is comprised of four 6" square tiles and measures 24" tall and 6" wide. It shows Tiger Lilies in a handled urn. The tiles are covered in a green majolica glaze. Very good condition, they have remnants of mortar on the back and a few flakes on the edges.
Originally panels such as these could have been used flanking the sides of a fireplace or greeting a visitor in a home's vestibule. They could also be used behind a sink or stove, in a shower, or framed and used anywhere.
