Royal Delft Porceleyne de Fles

Antique Royal Delft Peacock Tile Arts and Crafts Porceleyne de Fles

$ 585.00
A wonderful Arts and Crafts era tile by Porcelyne de Fles  otherwise known as Royal Delft. Designed in cuenca, or raised line, with crystalline matte glazes this tile features a peacock. This is a self framed example, meant to be hung on the wall as a piece of art but can still be installed if desired. Measures 4 1/2" tall, 17" wide and 3/4" thick. This is one of the animal tiles designed by L.E.F Bodart (1888-1933) in the 1910's. The back has an impressed mark. The condition is excellent. An uncommon find.

Although Dutch, these tiles were often sold in the USA by the Pardee Tile Company of Perth Amboy, NJ in the 1920's, along with their stock of Grueby tiles.
