Vintage German Art Nouveau Tile of a Red Poppy

This antique tile was made in Germany around 1900. The design is rendered in a high relief and shows a central image of a red poppy, flanked by leaves and poppy pods. The background is a nice gray. It measures 6" square and about 3/8" thick. The back is unsigned. The condition is very good with a few surface dings and traces of mortar on the back.

Poppies were the flowers of the Art Nouveau era. They represented the feel-good qualities of the opium it produced.
