$ 79.00
An early 20th Century example of Lucia della Robbia's commission "Cantoria" ("Singing Gallery"; 1431–1438) for the organ loft of Cathedral of Florence. It shows a group of signing boys holding a sheet of music. Rendered in a typical blue and white tin glaze pottery it measures 8" tall, 5 1/4" wide and 1" deep. Maker's mark on the back. Crazing and small rubs and flakes to the surface's high points. A pretty vintage looking display piece to hang on a wall inside or in the garden.

Luca della Robbia (1399/1400–1482) was an Italian sculptor from Florence. Della Robbia is noted for his colorful, tin-glazed terracotta statuary, a technique which he invented.
