Pinca Grottaglie Italy Mid Century Pottery Mask Fountain Spitter Garden Art
A large and massive wall decoration of a mid century reinterpretation of an ancient Mesopotamian mask. Perfect for the garden. It measures 14" tall, 12" wide and over 4" deep, all hand made, glazed and marked Pinca Grottaglie. A hole is partially impressed into the back so that this could be drilled and used as a fountain spitter. Grottaglie is a town in Southern Italy, known for it's pottery. In the last photo you can see the ancient original inspiration as it hung in the museum in Mosul Iraq just before it was hit by a sledge hammer and destroyed by terrorists.
