Angel and Apples, a J & J G Low Art Tile for Autumn / Fall

This tile is from the four seasons series by the J & J G Low Art Tile Works (1887-1902) of Chelsea MA. It represents Autumn by an angel shaking apples from a tree, the fruit and leaves falling around him. It measures 6" square and 3/8" thick. The back has the impressed marked for the factory and the copyright date of 1883. The tile is covered in a majolica celadon green glaze. The mold is crisp with detail. The condition is very good with only a little wear on the highest part of the angel's wing. Traces or mortar on the back.
