Vintage Mexican Talavera Tile Mural Village Street Scene
This charming vintage tile mural from Mexico consists of twelve 4 1/4" dust pressed tiles to make a panel measuring 17" tall and 14" wide. The naive painting of a village scene has a man and woman in a street lined by stucco clad homes with red tile roofs. There are mountains in the background under a bright blue sky. The deep talavera blue and white scalloped border really sets off the scene. It is signed on the lower left "V. Garcia Mexico" and signed illegibly on the lower right. The tiles are mounted onto a piece of cardboard which shows some age. This mural is probably from the 1950-60's. It remains in excellent condition.
