Old Bridge
American Victorian Era Tiles with Wreaths by Old Bridge
$ 120.00
A pretty lot of four tiles by the Old Bridge Tile Company (1890-1927) of Old Bridge New Jersey. Each press molded tile measures 4 1/4" square and 1/4" thick and has a raised decor of an ivy wreath surrounding a floral center. Nice soft glaze colors vary randomly from tile to tile. These tiles were originally installed in a Philadelphia row house. They have been cleaned and all mortar removed. The tiles pictured are representative of condition. The surfaces are shiny with some scattered rubs and flakes. Three lots are available.
A tile 4 1/4" square, when tipped on its edge, is 6 inches across. The same as a standard 6" square tile. These could make a nice border matched with other tiles, as shown in the last image.
