California Art Tile Double Peacocks Cal Art
A large 12" square tile by Cal Art aka California Art Tile (1923-1964) of a pair of peacocks, necks crossed, and eating from a cluster of grapes. They are perched under an arbor of grape vines, a classical pedestal and urn at the bottom center. The mold on this tile is exceptionally crisp, showing the textire of the feathers and details of the grape leaves. It is 3/4" thick and has a nice old patina to its engobe finish. It is in excellent condition with only minor rubs to the edges.
